Puppies…
What should I know when considering an Endeavor puppy?
Endeavor’s breeding program focuses on producing healthy and well mannered puppies that will make wonderful additions to their families. Our puppies are raised in our home with love and care, ensuring they are well-socialized and ready for their new homes. Our puppies are sold on a legally binding spay/neuter agreement, and come with a health guarantee against all testable conditions. A $500 reservation fee is required to reserve a spot and is included in the price of your puppy. In the event that you are unable to commit to a puppy after this period, your deposit can transfer over to another litter.
Our companion puppy price is $2500 plus 6.25% sales tax, regardless of gender, color, or size.
How is our puppy price determined?
The health of our puppies is of utmost importance to us. Our girls all have their OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) exams to ensure that their hips and elbows are strong and put together well. This is done to assess the quality of their joints and to examine the likelihood of our dogs developing hip or elbow dysplasia. If you’ve ever seen a dog with dysplasia, you’ll know its an extremely hard thing to watch a dog go through. We do our best to ensure that we have genetically sound dogs who are on a path to being healthy throughout their whole life, especially into old age. We also genetically test our dogs through PawPrint Genetics with the essential and supplemental Australian Labradoodle panels. Why test so much? Vets are very expensive and so we breed dogs who should be healthy the length of their life, if you provide correct nutrition, exercise and attention. A healthy dog can result in thousands of dollars saved over the course of your pet’s life. That is a goal we all should be striving for, quality of life.
Our Puppy Matching & Selection Process
Our goal with every litter is to thoughtfully match each puppy with the home where they will thrive. Because temperament plays such a large role in long-term success, puppies are not placed on a first come, first served basis.
Temperament First
From birth through the first several weeks of life, I spend extensive time observing each puppy’s personality, confidence level, energy, and overall temperament. When it comes time for placement, temperament is always the primary factor I use to determine which puppies are best suited for each family’s lifestyle and needs. Color and gender preferences are absolutely taken into consideration and I do my best to honor them whenever possible. However, they are secondary to temperament, and for that reason I cannot promise that every family will receive their exact first choice puppy from the entire litter.
How the Reservation Order Works
Puppies are matched in reservation order, not by first pick of the litter. This means that the first family on the reservation list will be contacted first, the second family will be contacted second, and so on.
Around seven weeks of age, once temperaments are well established, I will contact each family individually in reservation order. For each family, I determine the puppy I feel is the best match for them. I always have a top recommendation, but I typically provide two or three puppy options in the form of videos, pictures and/or a phone call about each puppy. This gives families autonomy and involvement in the decision while still ensuring each puppy is placed thoughtfully and responsibly. For local families, I offer in-person puppy visits instead of videos.
After a family makes their selection from their provided options, I move on to the next reservation and repeat the process. This requires a great deal of organization and careful structuring but the end goal is always the same: happy puppies placed in homes that are well suited for them, and families who love their puppy.
Important Expectations to Understand
Because puppies are matched and offered in reservation order, families are choosing from their designated options rather than from the entire litter. This helps prevent disappointment and ensures fairness throughout the process. If a family chooses to meet their puppy options in person, they also do not meet the entire litter during their visit. This is intentional, as meeting all puppies can create attachment to a puppy that may not be one of their placement options. Visits are focused on helping families feel confident and excited about their matched options.
Once final payment is made and the selection process moves forward, changes are typically not possible. By that point, puppies have already been matched and offered to families further down the list, so decisions should be made thoughtfully when options are presented.
Our Commitment
This process is designed to balance structure with flexibility and guidance with family preference. While it may look different from a traditional “pick your puppy” approach, it consistently results in better matches, smoother transitions, and long term success for both puppies and families.
If you value temperament, thoughtful placement, and a breeder who prioritizes the puppy’s future above all else, this process is likely a great fit for you.
Puppy Pickup
Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks old and no earlier, with no exceptions. Arrangements can be made for puppies to stay extra time when needed for pickup. We also offer a training program for an extra fee for owners who want their puppy to have more general training after 8 weeks.
We will not ship our puppies to you as we advise to never fly dogs in cargo due to safety reasons and because we never want puppies to be left unattended by either us or their new families in the process. Out of state buyers are welcome to fly and meet us in our home in Bulverde, TX or we can meet you at the San Antonio airport with your puppy and paperwork. For an extra fee, we can “flight nanny” your puppy to your nearest airport as well. Puppies must be able to fit comfortably in a soft sided carrier to fly. Generally these carriers are 19”x11”x9”, but this depends on your airline. At 8 weeks old, this is plenty of space for a puppy to fly.
Spay and Nueter agreement
Puppies will need to be spayed/neutered between 6-12 months of age. We sell dogs with breeding rights only to very few individuals who meet specific requirements. Generally, breeding rights are sold for $10,000-$12,000. If an accidental pregnancy occurs or the puppy is not spayed or neutered by 12 months, then the puppy will be considered a breeding dog and the resulting fee of $10,000 will be due. In the case of an accidental pregnancy, your dog will need to be spayed immediately to prevent puppies from being born. We allow owners to keep their puppies intact up to 12 months because we believe it is the best thing for their physical growth and maturity into adulthood, but if you cannot keep a dog intact responsibly we recommend you neuter your puppy at 6 months or consider a canine vasectomy or ovary sparing spay. We take great pride in producing healthy dogs who will never end up in a shelter, and the last thing we need is more mixed breed dogs being produced by accident. Needless to say, we take spay and neuter seriously!
We have a no shelter policy and puppies come with a contract in which the new owners agree to return the dog to us if there arises a need to rehome. We will either take the dog back or help that individual find a new home depending on location.
